          Facing the Fall

          Facing the Fall

Several brave members will be facing the fall, as they prepare to be seated in the dunk tank at NLC.

The much anticipated dunk tank is an activity planned to be a part of our Day of Service, taking place during our Grand Celebration. It will be open on Thursday, May 7 from 7:30 till 10:30. Located in the Grand Plaza, in addition to the food trucks, street performers, and musicians, it will be a fantastic night for members to enjoy.

The cost of the dunk tank will be $5. All proceeds will be donated to the Southern California Chapter of the Special Olympics. The Southern California Chapter of the Special Olympics’ Headquarters has been located in Long Beach, CA since 2007. This year, Long Beach has been named one of several Host Towns. According to the Special Olympics official website, “before the Special Olympics World Games begin on July 25, 2015, 7,000 athletes from 177 countries will be welcomed to Southern California with a three-day "Host Town" program from July 21 - 24.”

The Special Olympics is the official national service organization for BPA. Having the opportunity to help the Special Olympics help host the World Games is the greatest way any member could help! For more information about the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, please visit http://www.bpa.org/members/1/docs/1_Local%20Chapter%20Handbook%202014-2015.pdf.

Several members have been very excited not only for the dunk tank, but also to know who will be in the dunk tank. Did your vote make it? Below is a schedule of who will be in the tank! If you have been waiting to dunk a national officer, make sure to attend! It will be a great experience for an even better cause! The national officers look forward to seeing you there!
