Princess Diana once said, “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” It is with this spirit in mind that your National Officer Team chose this month’s service theme, Random Acts of Kindness. The actual day of celebration falls on February 17 nationally. There are many different ways you can participate in this month’s service theme. Listed below are some of the ideas we came up with. Make sure you share your participation on our Twitter account, @National_BPA using #BPAService. We love to see how our members are creating a better world one small act at a time.

-Tweet or Facebook message a genuine compliment to three

-If you walk by a car with an expired meter, put a quarter in it

-Each time you get a new piece of clothing, donate an old one

-Email or write an old teacher who made a difference in your life

-Smile at someone on the street, just because

-Let someone into your lane. They’re probably in a rush just like you

-Let the person behind you in the supermarket checkout line with one or two items go ahead of you

-Give someone a book you think they would like

        -Give someone a hug

-Put sticky notes with positive slogans on the mirrors in the restroom

-Pay the toll for the person behind you

-Pay for the order of the person behind you in the drive-thru

-Compliment someone in front of others

-Help your elderly neighbor by taking out the trash, shoveling their driveway, or mowing their lawn

-Give up your seat to someone on the bus or subway

-Tell your family how much you appreciate them

-Help someone struggling with heavy bags

-Call your mom, dad, or grandparents

Every one of us has the ability to change the world. One small random act of kindness at a time is a great way to start!

        Sincerely,

        Your 2016-2017 National Officer Team
