Mission StatementsStaying tuned into consumer needs is important — even for businesses as large and successful as Fedex, Estée Lauder, and Dell. One way that companies keep their vision alive for serving customer needs is to create a company mission statement. According to the Oxford American Dictionary, a mission statement is “a formal summary of the aims and values of a company, organization, or individual.” In other words, the mission statement is the guiding purpose or “focus” of the business. Do you think Fedex, Estée Lauder, or Dell has changed their focus since their companies were first founded? You can find out just how much they have or have not changed by going to their websites and reading their current mission statements: Click the link below to download a form where you may record the mission statements for FedEx, Estée Lauder, and Dell. If you are taking this course for a grade or for credit, you will turn in this assignment to your advisor or teacher.
