Off to the Race — The IPO Road Show

Attention, young entrepreneurs! You are about to go on the ultimate sales trip. But, this time you are not selling lemonade, hamburgers, beach chairs, computers, or whatever your product happens to be. You are selling part of your company to raise capital for expansion. You will be selling yourself as CEO.

You guessed it. We’re talking about the IPO road show. As explained in Lesson 10, the road show is a two or three week marathon of back-to-back meetings in which you will meet with potential major investors and try to convince them to put money into your business.

So think about it. You will be trying to get people who know little or nothing about your company to write a check for the purchase of some shares. You will definitely want to spend some time preparing for this challenging task. Lesson 11 is designed to help you through the process of developing your road show.
